1914-2014: A Portrait Gallery Faces of the First World War

A collaborative blog which focuses on the human history of the First World War, profiling the individual stories of the ancestors of current and former students and staff at the University of Liverpool.

The project is based in the Department of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies, but all University students and staff, both current and former, are invited to participate.


Dr Kay Chadwick, Reader in French Historical Studies and CLAS Research and KE Lead, will be giving a lecture ‘Facing the past: remembering and commemorating the First World War’ on Wednesday 24 September 2014 at 4pm in the Taylor Room, Sydney Jones Library, University of Liverpool. Free of charge. Booking advisable.
