St Luke’s Church and Suitcase Ensemble are exploring Walton’s First World War past and finding its echoes in Walton’s present.
This four year project was launched on August 2nd with an exhibition of portraits of each of the soldiers on the St Luke’s roll of honour. Children at Gwladys Street Primary took a soldiers name from the list and made a portrait of how they imagined they may have looked.
Over the next four years the children will continue to find out more about their soldier and the community will have a chance to engage with their WW1 Heritage at various public events.
