George Fearon was My Great Uncle too, My mother Josephine was his older sister Winifred’s daughter. They also lived in 104a Mill Lane. I was always told that George enlisted underage. So he might have been 17 in 1914. There is a picture in The August 27th 1964 edition of what looks like Liverpool Echo, showing a 50 year old picture of the battalion ‘Liverpool Pals’ with George on the front row. There is also reference to The Big Push of 1916 by the 89th Brigade made up mainly from ‘Pals’ battalions of the King’s (Liverpool) Regiment.
